BASF hat im Jahr 2024 rund 11 Milliarden Euro mit Produkten erwirtschaftet, die in den vergangenen fünf Jahren auf den Markt gekommen und durch Forschungs- und Entwicklungsaktivitäten entstanden sind.
Das ist auch dem BASF-Bericht 2024 zu entnehmen, der am 21. März 2025 veröffentlicht wurde. „Langfristig wollen wir Umsatz und Ergebnis mit neuen und verbesserten Produkten weiter steigern – vor allem mit Technologien, die zur Nachhaltigkeit beitragen“, sagt Dr. Stephan Kothrade, Mitglied des Vorstands und Chief Technology Officer der BASF.
Bei Anzahl und Qualität ihrer Patente gehörte BASF 2024 erneut zu den führenden Unternehmen in der chemischen Industrie. So wurden 1.159 neue Patente angemeldet, davon hatten etwa 45 Prozent einen besonderen Fokus auf Nachhaltigkeit.

In 2024, BASF generated sales of around €11 billion with products that have come on the market in the past five years and stem from research and development activities.
These figures can also be found in the BASF Report 2024, which was published on March 21, 2025. “Our long-term aim is to further increase our sales and earnings from new and improved products – especially with technologies that contribute to sustainability,” said Dr. Stephan Kothrade, member of the Board of Executive Directors and Chief Technology Officer at BASF.
In 2024, BASF was once again among the leading companies in the chemical industry in terms of the number and quality of its patents. The company filed 1,159 new patents, roughly 45 percent of which had a particular focus on sustainability.
